Hello – I am Lauren, specialist Physiotherapist and Director of Pop up Pilates.
I graduated with a first-class Hon degree from Oxford Brookes University in 2008 and since then I have worked both as a private Physiotherapist and as an NHS Physio across Oxfordshire. I specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in 2012 and have since gone on to complete my PGCert, and to develop a clinical interest in obstetric physiotherapy and movement control.

I became a Pilates instructor shortly after graduating. My first experience of Pilates was using it myself to recover from a horse riding accident. Pilates not only helped me to recover but made me stronger than before, better connected to my body and better at riding! As a physiotherapist I found Pilates fascinating, grounded in anatomy and physiology but so accessible, regardless of any medical background or sports experience.
So, Pop-up-Pilates was born! I wanted to share the benefits of Pilates and of my physiotherapy training with everyone who might need it. Going out into offices, schools, colleges, home and community buildings to work with individuals, and groups I have seen the transformational effects Pilates can have. Through word of mouth we have grown, and I have been joined by some likeminded physios….
